Since issue 70 the journal is compiled using DTP-software, yielding a significantly higher image-quality than before. These PDF-files have a size of about 1 MB. For issues 57-69 only parts had been created electronically, thus it was necessary to scan the missing parts (especially the images), resulting in a significantly larger size of the PDF-files. This is in general also the fact for issues 1-56, which had to be scanned totally. The title "Schweifstern" for the journal was established with issue 25, prior to this issue it was called simply "Journal of the German Comet Section" ("Mitteilungsblatt der VdS-Fachgruppe Kometen").
